"Piano di Casciana",is located 12km. away from the medieval town of Lucca in Tuscany, one of the most beautiful and fascinating region of Italy, is a private working farming estate. For more than 200 years, Piano di Casciana has been a wine and olive oil growing estate belonging to the actual owner family. After around 1960 the farm became a trotting race horse breeding after in the years '70 all the buildings of the estate have been converted into 12 individual designed accomodations for holidays rentals. Included in the circuit of the "Six Miles" Piano di Casciana is located close to the world famous ancient mansions "Ville Lucchesi" in a quiet rural woody area, encircled by olive groves and vineyards, Piano di Casciana has an ideal position for people who wish to have besides relaxation and quiet, the opportunity to visit Lucca and its enchanting countryside and take lovely long walks or bicycle rides in the surroundings.
Thanks to the location, to good motorways and rail links with the rest of Tuscany, North and Central Italy, you can be in the heart of Florence or at the "Cinque Terre" in about one hour, Rome or Venice in 3/4 hours as well.
Far away from main road, if you don't like the crown and confusion of a city, Marlia - Capannori, a small town just 2,5 km. away, offers you any kind of nice shops, chemist, banks, post office, grocery stores, wine shops like "Davini" and a big selection of small typical restaurants or "Trattoria" where you can taste the Lucca's cooking made with the worldwide known olive of Lucca and our very special wines.
All the renting holidays home are located inside of the property, most are independent apartments made out of farmhouses or villas, others are completely independent. All the constructions are encircled by 24 hectares of private fields and meadows, enriched with evergree trees, bushes of rosemary, lavander and cypresses which line the entrance road of the property where only the owners, the farming workers and the guests are admitted. Guests can make full use of the grounds, either for relaxing either exercising or playing. The facilities offered to our guests are a swimming pool area with a 11x7 meters pool where each home has its own reserved place with umbrellas, sun beds and chairs, a BBQ area with pic nic tables, a "Vita Parcour" in the farm wood and for the kids a playground with a ping pong table and a table football. For our guest available also a coin washing machine in the laundry. Internet WiFi in all the property for your laptop or in the office a computer at your disposal.
Bike rentals, horse back riding, paragliding, cooking lessons, winery tours with wine tasting and oil mills with olive oli tasting can be organized upon request.
Except for loading and unloading, cars are not allowed to transit within the estate, a large car park is available, This holiday complex to rent is specially indicated for children who can safely play within the property, feed our goats, enjoy swimming in the pool, play ping pong and most important meet others kids from all over the world.
All the formal structures of the homes has been respected, the interiors, kitchens, bathrooms have been al renewed to a modern standard not only with care but preserving the true expression of Lucca's and Tuscany's architecture, saving where possible the original "cotto Tiles" the wood beamed ceilings, the "mandolato" walls typical of the Tuscan's hayloft and the frescoes.
